Sometimes we avoid conflict. Other times we charge right into it, only to have it go horribly wrong. As a manager you are going to encounter conflict, what you decide to do with it and how you navigate the choppy waters of team conflict is a determining factor on how you're perceived as a leader and how effectively you focus your team on the things that matter most. Join us for this session on managing conflict and come away with new skills to make you a more effective manager.

- Lyndsey Karp is a Learning and Development Specialist and CSM at Bridge. Her mission is to help everyone love where they work by coaching managers on how to be the best, most effective leaders possible. She is also determined to help keep the human elements of work alive in an increasingly technological world. She holds a Master’s degree in Adult Education and Organizational Development from Temple University, is DISC certified, and is trained in Instructional Design.

When you think of powerful storytellers, your mind may automatically go to people like Steve Jobs or Sheryl Sandberg. Audiences were able to connect to their stories. But, what if we took a different look at storytelling and focused on a whole different arena - professional wrestling. The characters of the WWE have proven for years the importance of storytelling and the importance of setting the stage (literally and figuratively) that brings the audience into the stories. What could HR professionals learn about telling a story from this unique group that finds creative ways to connect to an audience? What can we learn from this and use these qualities of storytelling to better influence our leaders, teams, and employees?
Join us to discuss how we can learn three lessons from professional wrestling:
- Storytelling has the power to engage audiences in a meaningful way,
- Deliberate practice is essential to making a story come to life, and
- Failure and experience are essential to learning.

While he started his career teaching high school students about business, he has since found his passion for helping an organization focus on the future and build a learning culture. Sure there are a million things we do everyday, that really are goals, then there are higher level goals that we might make for ourselves, for our team or for our organization. Here we'll talk about the goals that contribute to overall success, and the little ones that contribute to making everyday life a little better.
